I build full-stack products, and train the models that make them smarter.

Software developer and data scientist based in Porto. From pixel to prediction to a shipped product — web, mobile, computer vision and machine learning, with an obsession for the details in between.

01_about

Engineer by training, builder by habit.

I'm Leorick, a software developer based in Porto. My work sits at the intersection of full-stack engineering and data science — building products that are as thoughtful about the data they learn from as the interfaces people actually use.

My background in informatics and computing gave me the fundamentals: algorithms, systems and machine learning. In practice, I apply them across the whole stack — clean React frontends, resilient APIs, and models that make sense of real-world data.

I treat software as a craft of constraints: clarity, performance and empathy for the person on the other side of the screen. When I am not engineering, I am usually at the piano — music is where the same pattern-recognition muscle gets a different workout.

  • Clarity over cleverness

Code that is easy to read, test and change beats code that is impressive to write.

  • Data-driven, human-first

Models and metrics serve people. I design with the person at the end of the screen in mind.

  • Shipping over theory

Ideas become valuable when they reach users. I optimize for done and deployed.

Signal & Song

Between models and interfaces, there is always music. I am a singer and a pianist — the same pattern-recognition I use to find signal in data, I use to find it in sound.

Music has shaped how I think about software: timing, tension and release, silence as a design tool. It keeps the creative side of engineering sharp, and reminds me that the best systems — like the best songs — are felt as much as they are understood.
